* Technocracy Inc. Information site.
Technocracy Inc web site contains general information of aspects of energy accounting in a non market biophysical science design or technate. Technocracy Inc.

The site offers basic information on the subject and mostly does a fair presentation using the historic context of this group formed in 1933, inventing the ideas behind thermoeconomics.

TechInc. is a research and educational group with no assumption to power. Mostly it was a group of consulting engineers/scientists. Ecology and preservation of resources was their goal, a science system rather than a political/Price System, which they deemed no longer viable in the modern world of high energy conversion and technology.

The precursor of that group was the Technical Alliance which started its research in 1918 and published its suggestions of the alternative energy/resource based economic design portrayed in the Technocracy Study Course. That study for the most part written by the geo-scientist M. King Hubbert is the best source of information on the subject Technocracy Study Course

The design, based on thermodynamics, may be the most 'alternative' idea of economics and government to come from the 20th. century and because it is based on science may still be the most viable alternative, for societal change. * Price System future?
"So today the operation of our control mechanism, the control measures that must and will be adopted are those that most nearly conform to the technological operating requirements of that mechanism.
These requirements can only be known by those who are intimately familiar with the technical details of that mechanism, our technically trained personnel ;
- though prior to there being a general recognition of this fact we expect to witness performances on the part of our educators, economists, and sociologists,
lawyers, politicians, and businessmen that will parallel the performances of all the witch doctors of preceding ages." end quote. Technocracy Study Course

'The injection of monetary concepts into all discussions of natural wealth and income, wholly confuses the people as to the actual issues at stake. Furthermore, it serves as a handy screen behind which, with a little word juggling, the business/political operators of this Price System can continue their profitable activities without being too greatly embarrassed by outside interference.' --- Howard Scott.

* Who Is A Technocrat: Wilton Ivie... Is there any element of fascism connected to this program? No.
Disdain For Fascism

And excerpt from 'Who is a Technocrat' by Wilton Ivie
Technocracy Is Opposed To:
Technocracy as a form of social control is opposed to waste, especially waste of non-replaceable energy and mineral supplies; it is opposed to the inefficient degradation of energy; it is opposed to shoddiness of manufacture; it is opposed to scarcity, especially planned scarcity; and it is opposed to opinionated tyrannies (such as fascism) as a means of social regulation. This is because the physical factors needed in the operation and continuance of a high-energy civilization on this Continent (or any other continent) would be seriously handicapped by the prevalence of any of these.

The resultants of Technocracy applied to the North American Continent would be: The production and distribution of all the goods and services that the entire population of the Continent would require. Reduction of human effort to the minimum that the effective operations of the Continent would permit. The maximization of both Continental and individual security. Obligation of every Citizen to contribute his pro rata share of time and effort in manning the operations of the Continent, which amount would be very meager, indeed, as compared to Price System expectations. The highest standard of health and education that it would be possible for a society to maintain.
The individual human being would derive a great deal more from the system than he or she would contribute to it. Hence, everyone would live on a heritage of unearned wealth, a circumstance which, today, is permitted to only a very few of `the best people.'

This is the only form of social control or government that legitimately can be called a `Technocracy.' There are no technocracies in the world today. All governments on the earth, now are Price System tyrannies, whether they are autocratic, fascistic, republican, socialistic, or a hybrid combination of two or more of these. The present governments of the United States and Canada are goulashes of all these elements.

Propagandists, whether in the economic, political, or religious fields, have had a long experience in, and have perfected various techniques for propagating deception. One of these techniques, as we have already indicated, is that of `association.'
The trick is to take something and attempt to influence opinion for or against it by associating it with something else regarding which either a favorable or unfavorable opinion has already been formed." End quote Wilton Ivie, member, TechInc.

This is an information and social net-working site about the Technocracy technate design formulated by the Technical Alliance. The technate design is located in the last two chapters of the Technocracy Study Course, the findings and plan of action for a new culture based on science. This site encourages people to inform others regarding energy based non market economics (energy accounting). There are many theories of social change, this one is unique and creative in approach... and most importantly viable. This information is not connected with any other groups information, but is the original thesis of the Technical Alliance.
Technical Alliance information.
The root of the word Technocracy and its meaning come from the word technique. The root of this word is the Greek, techne ("art","craft", or "skill"), which linguists have further traced to the Indo-European root, teks - (to weave, or fabricate). From the earliest times, technique has been distinguished from other modes of human action by its purposive, rational, step-by-step way of doing things.-- In the Technate design, this means administration by science or fact, within the context of the program developed by the Technical Alliance.
<><><><><><><><>
In Detroit, in April 1960, Howard Scott was asked for “details” on how the changeover to a Technate would take place. Scott: “I suppose whoever wrote this question thinks we Technocrats are all right, and that we are going to install the Technate… Oh, no, we aren’t going to do a damn thing… We’re Consulting Engineers. We’ll draw the design — tentatively. It will not be complete in every detail — nothing as vast as this could be; but the people of this country have to do it. They’re going to do it — not the Technocrats… They can say. ‘Well, you turn left out here and then turn right, but that’s about the extent of our participation. If it gets tough enough, you’ll do it…’ No society has ever moved from foresight… It’s always been by compulsion after the roof fell in… If the public had that much sense, it would have been done long before we Technocrats went across this country trying to tell you what to do… In other words, you would have beaten us to it. The fact that you haven’t (The people of this country haven’t) proves how far out of the loop they really are.”

What are we dealing with? The political Price System. — Essay: I Am The Price System!

* What would a technate do?
The problem, restated, is:
All economies on Earth are Price Systems (money systems), which are essentially an elaboration of the barter system, based on exchange values of commodities and services among individuals, communities, nations, and continents. Deferred exchanges became debts and debts became tradable substitutes for real wealth (resources). The virtual world of debt has now grown to such a size that its validation is the focus of national and world emergency measures, which, if unsuccessful, will bring us to confrontation with the survival of modern civilization itself… This is an unprecedented crisis, manifested in a variety of problems which the Price System has been unable to manage. Consider these:
Fossil fuels:
(Our main sources of energy.) Fossil fuels — coal, petroleum, natural gas — are finite quantities, at or near capacity or even declining in the case of oil. As energy sources, they are the lifeblood of modern civilization. There are no equivalent substitutes in sight for them, but the Price System treats them as commodities, like any other. They are priced by the common market day by day. The future can take care of itself? The Price System is selling out our future!
Climate change:
The Kyoto Protocol of 1997 was an attempt to control and reduce the effect of carbon dioxide (and other greenhouse gases) from man-made sources on global warming, but the level of CO2 continues to increase. More schemes of control are planned at the same time as policies of continued growth of Price System economies are given priority. The problem is unresolved. Some mitigating efforts will be attempted as budgets and politics allow. The damage continues to mount. U.S. Department of Commerce | National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
Earth System Research Laboratory

Species extinction:
Biologists warn that numerous species are already at or near extinction. A progression along this path could end with human extinction itself.
Attempts to counter this progression are stymied by budgets and the human imperative to consume ever more, oblivious of consequences. The Price System commitment to growth overrides even dire consequences.
Financial crises:
The financial (money) system is an unstable one, oscillating from boom to bust over the years. Methods of measurement and control have been ephemeral and deficient, but collapse has been followed eventually by recovery... until now. The availability of cheap energy from fossil fuels enabled new growth... until now. The financial collapse of 2008 is ongoing and unresolved. Emergency measures of mitigation, measured in trillions, do not end the unraveling of the Price System. As a system of measurement and control, its failure now looms catastrophic and very likely will result in social chaos.
These are but examples of the failure of the North American Price System to measure and control the problems we face. There are many more: depletion of the aquifers on which much agriculture depends; soil erosion; coral reef destruction; ozone holes; pollution of land, sea, and air… the list goes on.

TECHNOCRACY TECHNATE AS A SYSTEM OF
MEASUREMENT AND SCIENTIFIC ADMINISTRATION:

Technocracy Study Course A Pdf format file copy. The best source of information on this subject.

The design of a Technocracy technate requires control and central administration of all forms and sources of energy. It thus replaces the controlling role of financial institutions and money with the basic requirement of all activities — energy. The organizational structure of the Technate provides for continuous research and review of the role of all energy-based functions in order to provide a maximum standard of living for all citizens… unhindered by the complications of the Price System, decisions will be based on the requirements of society as determined by continuous research, within the prudent use of resources and the conservation of energy.
Initially, the allocation of energy quotas would continue substantially as today to maintain continuity. Over time a redirection of energy and resources would respond to the need for a new approach to society’s problems and our role in Earth’s ecologies.

Society’s central problem is here restated and redefined to make understandable the decision that must be made by the citizens of North America: To continue with a failing Price System which will result in a terminal collapse of society and the inevitable die-off; or… To institute a new form of society based on energy, not money — A technate design which would match available resources to society’s needs, with a minimum expenditure of energy for maximum social gain for all citizens.

Yes the Hispanic world is very much a part of the picture here, and we appreciate your participation in making the design ideas known broadly to your population and other groups as well. Mexico and Central America and the upper Amazon river basin are all a part of the North American continent and integral to the technate design.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVYgMuQqYy0Spanish, Espanol video information on the Technocracy technate design.
The reason the technate area includes this vast area? It makes for a bigger broader resource base, and therefore a greater diversity in resources and consumables for ALL citizens of the North American technate.
